WINDY CITY TIMES Missing the old Bjork? Experimental singers Imogen Heap and Cass offer a fresh breath amidst the media onslaught of pop stars. Imogen Heap should be a recognizable name, she recently has opened for Rachel Yamagato. After 2002’s side project Frou Frou’s debut Details, contributing on LHB’s song “Coming Up for Air” and appearing on the O.C. soundtracks, the brunette Brit returns with Speak for Yourself on RCA Victor, her follow-up to 1998’s I Megaphone. Recruiting Rollo as a producer was the fit Cass needed to complete her debut Come Here. The young singer nearly scrapped her album, feeling too removed from the project, but Dido’s older brother understood the “Out of My Reach” singer’s intentions. Cass’s debut single “Touch Me” soared to the top of the charts overseas, but with a window of four years, she is able to make a proper debut without compromise.
