Right then...I've begun the 3rd album (the follow-up to 'Speak For Yourself'). I'm going to write a more frequent blog as I did with the last one so you can keep an eye on me and make sure I'm not slacking! I wonder how it's gonna turn out? How exciting! You're very welcome to comment but please don't ask me questions on here or i'll never get any work done. You can email me with any questions you have and every month we'll pick 20 from the virtual 'hat' and post them. Send your questions to: [email protected]

Much much more to come! Love, fluv x i x Wheeeeee!!!

Click Joy

Hello you lot.

I'm in an a bar at the moment with some wine listening to the song (on my laptop with headphones, I'm not that confident) that I was stressing over in the last post. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it now. All day yesterday I parked myself up in a coffee shop for no less than 6 hours non stop. I was their longest customer ever (so I gave them a S4Y CD), though they have only been open for about 6 days. I decided to see if the "Glittering Cloud" formula would work. Basically drinking macchiato after macchiato with tons of suger in each (because I don't actually like the taste of coffee) and knuckling down to it. The outcome was 2 verses that evolved from about 40 pages of scribblings. I went back to the house and sung them in. I then took out the one thing that I was SO hung up on. The original title that I was so chuffed with was "qwerty love" about being in love with my laptop basically. Being dependant on it. Anyway. When I thought about it I realized that, that didn't make any sense at all. What about all the other things that make up a computer/internet etc? i was being really stupid and protective over it too.

So there we go...the problem lay in the thing I most believed in. I ditched it and the lyric breathed into life. Hooray!

I'm so happy to have won the wrestling match...for now as I was coming up to a week of fighting with it.

That's about it for this entry. I'm back on track. As much as I was downhearted about it all the day before yesterday...I'm jumping about and skipping down the boardwalk here in Launceston to it today. Imagine what I'm like to live with. Goodness. Moodswing queen. Up and down all over the place. The high's are worth it though.

Thanks for all your emcouraging comments on my website. I know I have to go through it. It's a process but I can't help to moan every now and then.

It's called "Click Joy" now btw.

:)

Love fluv to you all.
Immi xx

I don't really have a photo to go with this post...but here's a (not very good taken by camera phone) picture I took the other day while walking through the beautiful Gorge here by my cottage.

i'm SO glad you worked it out. the new title is fantastic, enjoy yourself, keep your chin up! :)

I can't wait to here the new songs! I'm sure they are going to be amazing seeing as every new song you make never ceases to amaze me.

Cheers
Jimmy

Nicely done! Ultimately, I find it's always the simplest routes that tend to make me the happiest.

If the pictures are any indication of the kind of inspiration you're getting down there, I can't wait to hear your new stuff! Should be very interesting.

Take care, Immi.

Immi, I've been reading your blogs since the beganning of your trip, and enjoy it so much!
You have me laughing thru it all.
I really feel like I'm there! :)

Thank you thank you!

I can totally sympathize with you on being stuck on a song about your laptop. If I had to write a song about electronics that I love it would be a 6 CD boxed set of one very long song and probably would have taken me 8 years to write.

Oblique Strategies !

"Destroy
- nothing
- the most important thing"

or even

"Take away the elements in order of apparent non-importance"

There's an Oblique Strategies dashboard widget at Apple's website (search for oblique) - have your own personal Brian to encourage/befuddle :)

Glad to hear it's all moving along nicely again.

Immi, I can't help but to feel jelous of you jet setting off around the world, and having what can only be described as a breath of freash air. Sometimes I wish that I could just disappear for a while and enter a completely new mind set to clear my head. So you better do some for me too :P

As for the name, congrats on it! Click Joy. I like it. It reminds me of "Select Delete" from Pool [No Water] when they delete all the photos and they have Mic Check playing in the background Methinks?

Anyways, Keep bringing us joys through your blog, you're missing out on sun sun sun over Easter in London [but thats nothing compared to where you are now, but still...]

Click Joy.. It's funny because its true. We get so much joy from clicking.

*mwah*
xXx

You sound relieved! Chopping something or heading off in a completely different direction let's it "breathe" sometimes. Im sure you always manage to make it come together though.

You're killing me. I can't wait to hear it.

Glad to hear you won the fight!!
Can't wait to hear how it came out. Love the new song name. It always turns out great in the endd

I'm so glad to hear that you've managed to find that space needed to let go. Looking forward to hearing 'Click joy', I do believe we all know that certain love for our electric circuitry. Feexxx

Sounds keen :)

Thanks for sharing your ups and downs with us.

Now repeat: You are not an imposter, and you aren't fooling us into anything. I'm much too clever to be fooled! Unless Guy Sigsworth has actually been singing your vocals all along. In that case, yes, I would have to admit you totally fooled me.

Ooh, now you've got me all excited! ...Which I already was... but even moreso now! I can't wait to hear your new songs. I'm glad you won your wrestling match. I agree with the others, Click Joy is an awesome name. Once again, have fun! Looking forward to your next entry.

i'm glad things are better and that you're happier :).

Immi, you are the best
Come to Spain pleaseeeee!!!!

Come to Spain pleaseeee
Besooosss

Imogen, I’m glad that you were able to figure out the dilemma with your song, and that you are happy with the results. I hope your Easter went well, and that you were able to find the chocolate you were looking for. A snowball fight ended up breaking out with my nephews during the Easter egg hunt. It was a lot of fun, even though my brother in law hit me in the head with a snowball from 50 feet away and then ran in the house. I doubt there was any snow in the gorge for you to play with, but from your pictures, it looks beautiful. Have a good day.

I recently came across your myspace through a "friend" of course. You've literally captured your own genre in my opinion. I purchased 'Speak For Yourself' and can't stop listening to it. The way you go from simple melody to complex arrangement in the same song is amazing. I play keyboard in our band at church. You've inspired me to reach further and develop my skills. God has really given you an amazing gift. I'm sure the beautiful world around you has inspired your writing for the upcoming album. The pictures are beautiful. Thanks for letting us peek into your life like this. Keep up the good work,
Gabe Seymore

Up, down, mood swing away....it's all part of the process and we're behind you 100%. :o) and while i'm sure the finished product will be absolutley amazing, it'll mean so much more to me (and everyone else i'm sure) to experience some of that.

Yay! I can't believe I didn't know about this site before now [found it at Livejournal]

I LOVE the last album, Speak for Yourself, the title alone is wonderful and my absolute favorite song has to be 'Hide and Seek'. I heard it on a new show in the U.S. and I'd never heard a song so intriguing and unique. I HAD to find the singer, and after about 10 minutes of searching online, I came across your name and was hooked. Bought the album not a few days after, and I've been looking for your stuff ever since. Thanks for the music that's out already, and I CAN'T WAIT for the next album!

Good luck working on it!

~m

Thanks Imogen, you're music is almost as good as a nice cold glass of water.
