I don't know if anyone has noticed this before (and I did read the more obvious threads that it might have appeared on) but that pasta pan sound is on the Ellipse DVD, in a kitchen scene.
It's not exactly the same sound that ended up on Lifeline, and it's not nearly as well recorded, but it's there on the DVD soundtrack: a time-travelling easter egg.

Pretty much exactly 15:00 in, just after the chicken goes into the oven, and just before Immi says "We cater for all sorts".
