In case you're wondering about Immi's ancestor Ebenezer Elliott, who she mentioned on her live blog last night, there's quite a long article about him here. I had never heard of him, but apparently in his day he was famous both as a poet and as a reforming politician, who started the campaign to repeal the Corn Laws:
