Universal Music Group will be releasing iMegaphone on November 14. I'm not sure which countries the deal includes, but it's great news for new and old fans alike. Just in time too for the North American tour.

I really do hope it gets a UK release, but considering how she is relatively unknown here still I'm not holding my breath - there probably "isn't the demand for it" as record companies would say.
This sucks, as I have always refused to use a credit card, and so cannot order it from Japan, nto to mention the fact that being at uni it would make recieving it a little difficult (they screen our letters and parcels, and I'm not sure CD's are permitted ) |

When it is re-issued in the US it will no doubt be available from all big retailers such as amazon.com so fans around the rest of the world should be able to get hold of it easily enough.
I'm sure Amazon let you pay with debit cards, not just credit cards and UK fans should get a good deal because the current US/UK exchange rate is very good for people in the UK! |

Heh, heres hoping.....
Until then, all I can do is scour all the second-hand and rare record shops I can find, wherever I go. I know that a friend of mine picked up a copy about a year ago in York, so rare though it is, it IS possible..... |

ROCK. ON. Oh yes. This is most excellent news indeed. Now even my friends who are not as obsessed as I am can know the joys of Getting Scared and Shine-ing and Coming Here. Boy.
Ok so that didn't quite work.
James wrote: I'm sure Amazon let you pay with debit cards, not just credit cards and UK fans should get a good deal because the current US/UK exchange rate is very good for people in the UK! 'Tis true! I've have done so myself.
And yes, I'm sure it will be a good deal for those of you across the pond.
(grumbles the man who has to pay nearly 35 dollars after international shipping and foreign currency finance charges on my credit card for a 15 pound online purchase!) Not that I'm bitter.
By the way James, I really like the new "cat" moblog pic. Reminds me of one of my family's former cats. She was named Domino.

| Is there a recording of Aeroplane that sounds like the one used in her video? I was checking sound bites of the Japan I Megaphone release and it sounded different to me. |

Official Press Release:
Imogen Heap's 1998 Debut 'i Megaphone' Reissued as the Acclaimed Singer-Songwriter's Recent Album Prompts New U.S. Tour
SANTA MONICA, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--Oct 6, 2006 -- Charismatic and compelling singer-songwriter Imogen Heap has gained the ear of America in recent years with her electro/alt songs on cult fave movies and television shows as well as her 2005 sophomore album "Speak For Yourself." Yet "i Megaphone," her 1998 debut, has been out-of-print in the U.S. for seven years. As Heap returns here for a November-December tour, that album receives a much-deserved reissue. "i Megaphone" (Almo Sounds/UMe), released November 14, 2006, revisits the songs that marked Heap as the next great iconoclastic female artist, a lineage that includes Patti Smith, Kate Bush, Annie Lennox, Bjork and Liz Phair.
After her live debut performing between sets by The Who and Eric Clapton at the 1996 Prince's Trust Concert in London's Hyde Park, the classically trained Heap, from rural Essex, England, signed to Almo Sounds when she was just 17 years old. "i Megaphone" (an anagram for Imogen Heap), produced by David Kahne, Dave Stewart (of the Eurythmics) and Guy Sigsworth, and featuring the engaging singles "Come Here Boy," "Shine" and "Getting Scared," earned wide critical acclaim. Unfortunately, Almo Sounds, formed by A&M founders Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss, was winding down and Heap soon found herself adrift.
In 2002, she and Sigsworth released a duo album, "Details," under the moniker Frou Frou and it too was critically acclaimed. The following year they covered the Bonnie Tyler classic "Holding Out For A Hero" for the "Shrek 2" soundtrack. Though by then defunct, Frou Frou enjoyed an unexpected resurgence in popularity in 2004 when "Let Go" was featured in "Garden State."
Heap's second solo album, "Speak For Yourself," emerged the following year. Its "Hide And Seek" was heard in the powerful closing scenes of the Season Two finale of "The O.C." and sparked a downloading frenzy. The series' third season ended with her haunting rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." "Hide And Seek" was also featured in the movie "The Last Kiss," the reality series "So You Think You Can Dance" and as the ending song in the premiere episode of this year's new drama "Smith." In addition, she penned "Can't Take It In" for "The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe."
But it is because of "i Megaphone" that America first heard Imogen Heap.

Did anyone have a hard time finding it? I had to call 4 or 5 places before someone said they could order it for me - that is, of course, after no one knew how to spell 'imogen' or 'megaphone.' Finally Barnes and Nobel said they would order it for me, and then finally finding it at Borders and it being $20!! Then the guy at the register who was looking for it on the 'Hold' shelf called her EYE-MO-GHEN. After I corrected him, he gave me this smirk that quite obviously said, 'No one asked you.' It took everything I had not to smack that CD on the counter and say, 'LOOK FOOL!!...'
Oh Amazon, I have turned my back on you and for that I paid dearly. Anyway.. it's good to have an iMeg again where 'Rake It In' doesn't skip!!
Happy hunting to the rest of ya. |

You know that's kind of funny and kind of narrow minded. How many people mispronounce it.... Can you count them on one hand?
Let the distibution run its course, I'm sure there'll be more.
I hope.

Hey all, I am completely new to this So glad it was reissued, because I saw Immi for the first time live Nov.10th at the Electric Factory in Philly where I bought Megaphone (I already had Speak For Yourself) and I really love it- It was raining like crazy the other day and I just rocked out to the music. Anyone else here think "Come Here Boy" is addictive?
PS: Where do I go to attach a picture for myself? |

"CHB" rivals some of the most powerful opiates on the planet.
