FANTASTIC SET!
Even better than her last visit, (though Zoe Keating was certainly missed!), Immi was on FIRE last night!
Levi Weaver & Kid Beyond were excellent opening acts, & their additions to Immi's music were at the least different & at the most spectacular.
Kid's ability to keep up with himself despite the dry climate here in Utah was admirable. I think most of us were in shock.
Levi's Radiohead cover & crowd communication were charming. I've often heard it said that Radiohead is THE hardest band to cover (I'd love to hear Immi's version of "Paranoid Android" or "My Iron Lung") - Levi pulled it off seamlessly.
And dearest Immi:
(aka: left me speechless, up until after the concert when we spoke briefly.)
As for the crowd: worse than last time. The place was packed & only one of the bars was open, but fewer drinks & less space to mull around & talk didn't seem to help one bit. Many people were hurt, (nothing serious) & unless you were like me & found yourself pressed hard against the railing in front of the stage, you'd probably have found parts or the performance difficult to hear over the din of the crowd, (info taken from my friends that got there late & got stuck back near the merch table).
People were generally rude - something that while not entirely common for Salt Lake, seems to be rather common for this particular venue.
That said, I still found it worth every penny & then some. It was well worth standing outside in the cold with no coat (knowing I'd have to hold it inside the venue if I wore one).
THANKS FOR THE AWESOME PERFORMANCE, IMMI & CREW!
Always affectionate,
Candace from SLC, UT |

| I loved the flags last night. It was so funny. I love how almost every band I've seen lately has either mentioned or has had one of those flags. Although last night was the best performance with them. |

So what's the deal with the flags? (And what happened last night??) |

Many of our streets downtown have bright orange flags at either side (see pictures above) that you hold while you cross the street so that cars can see you better.
The flags were introduced just before (or was it during?) the 2002 Winter Olympics here in SLC.
Immi & the gang brought some flags from Main Street to the concert & danced about with them. At the end of the concert they handed them out to the crowd.
Note: I noticed Levi Weaver was even willing to sign his flag for one lucky fan! |

Although last night was the best performance with them. I made several business trips to Salt Lake City this year. Funny, the flags were one of the first curious things I noticed. I asked about them, of course, and then told the story to my colleagues who visited over the weeks and months. But I didn't walk off with any, unlike Immi and Company. |

I was wondering what that flag was........well that's one way of traffic control. Another is what happens in Denmark, their speed bandits and traffic control are a good way to go.
On another note, just read Levi's blog on myspace, he said that SLC was the best show for him to date...
read here.
And if you're interested google Denmark Speed Bandits for a traffic update. |

I think that I could safely say that immi's show on friday was the best concert that I've ever been to . . . and I've been to quite a few concerts in my day. The way that immi incorporated the opening acts into the music showed what an amazing person that she really is . . . and she is always so kind after the show to meet fans.
I have one quick question for everyone out there who may have been to the show . . . and I am sorry that this is not immi related. I am wondering if anybody knows what music was playing before the show began? I really enjoyed it and it helped me get through the hour of anticipation before the show started.
so . . . anyone know who it was? |

if it was who immi had playing at the denver show, it was probably milosh, a musician she admires greatly. |
