The gig was FANTASTIC!! AWESOME!!!
She is such a major talent, I was just dumbstruck at how effortlessly she performed, despite recovering from a sore throat. The layering she achieved was mesmerising, especially as it was all created live, on the spot.
This is the first time I've seen her and have only fairly recently gotten into her work, actually it was because of Let Go whilst watching Garden State.
I don't know what else to say except that I won't hesitate to see her next time she comes to Brighton.
Nemo were great and I'm checking out their Myspace page as I write this.
And Pixelh8 was such an extraordinary experience - I never realised all my old gaming consoles could be put to such creative use!
Very clever, very clever indeed!
Anyway, I just want to say thanks Imogen et al for one of the best evenings I've had in ages.
Hope your throat continues to get better. |

I work at Brighton Dome, so having Immi perform where I work was really exciting for me. I'd been so worried that the gig was going to get cancelled after her illness, so was relieved when her agent confirmed it was still on (the day before) and when she arrived safely at the venue on Wednesday afternoon. I even got to see some of the soundcheck as I was working inside the auditorium and it was clear that Immi was still fighting that frog in her throat, but she wasn't going to let it get the better of her.
The gig was awesome. I took a couple of friends with me who'd not seen her play live before and they were spellbound throughout, as indeed was I. She's such a fascinating performer to watch as she layers her vocals and sounds, so unlike anyone else that I've seen - and she's so down to earth and funny with it. When she came out and played Hide & Seek for the encore she was stood right in front of where I was sat and it was as if she was playing just for me, it made my spine tingle... Daylight Robbery rocked out, and The Moment I Said It was the perfect finale.
I've posted some photos of the gig over on the moblog page.
After the show we were in my local pub and she called in to see the Nemo lads, so we got to say hello and she signed my mate's CD, so that was a bonus! A great, great evening! |

i spent this gig with my mouth open, and chills down my back. I thought it was just an amazing experience.
can't really say much more, cos i don't want to think much about it, just found the whole mix of being included in the gig by imogens stage presence, and chatting to us, using the technology to make an entrancing sound, etc etc etc...wonderful...
thanks |
