and her boyfriend called out I'm right here, but I don't think she heard him

So glad to hear the show went well. |

It was a very good gig, really enjoyed it. A lot more... "polished" than at The Bedford last year.
She played most of Speak For Yourself, two Frou Frou tracks, Come Here Boy, and the song from the Narnia soundtrack.

I think that was just some random punter...
I also enjoyed the support act - Zoe Keating. Got a bit annoyed with the people talking through her set, though.
And I got to meet Immi... |

Glad to hear that you got to meet Immi "nils"
I think it's a shame that there are so many distractions when Zoe is performing. I have heard that a lot in many recent reviews. |

the show was fantastic.
the support was amazing, especially duracel.
i got about 9 videos from the show, which i will upload on ysi tomorrow.
though i've read some feedback that often fan videos aren't wanted though i'll put them up and if there's a problem i shall take them down.
immi was incredible.
it's a shame how rude some of the crowd were during the support slots they would not stop talking. gah. |

WOW. I've got so much to say about last night, I walked away and wished that I could just do it all again [going to buy tickets for Shepards Bush!]
Anywho's... I'm at college right now so I can't type a full review but I will tonight - LOTS to say... so expect one heck of a review.
But the general jist of it will just be about how amazing the night was |

great support acts, i wish people were more quiet for zoe and i wish id bought a cd too. really good music, I imagine she would do a great score for a film, reminded me very much of Requiem for a dream. I think immi and zoe should definately be considered for a whole film score. duracel... crazy, energetic, sweaty amazement! Great sound and ultra unique, i want to know where immi was at 3am listening to him, that would have been insane.
immi, great support acts, both very different but similar in relations to using electronic equipment to create normal instruments extraordinary.
Onto Immi, flawless and a beaty of forna and feathers, beautiful. Great music. I loved it when she was duetting, amazing sound. I originally was watching from the front right and then moved round the side and watched her at work, it was incredible. As someone mentioned it was more polished than the bedford but i must say that i found the bedford gig and bush hall so much more intimate. The stage was beatifully decorated. So much effort by everyone involved and it really paid off, cant wait for the shepherds bush gig. don't forget your band immi
oh that annoyed me a bit actually, wasnt allowed to take a digital slr in but people were allowed digital compacts? oddness, i apparently needed a press pass, and all i wanted was to improve my skills and get some pics of the gig to share with everyone. gee
any ideas on how to get one? do i need to contact immis people or the venue people?
Was so tired after work that i headed back after the gig. forgot to get my poster. will get one at sheperds bush if theyre still around. any news about the live cd?

The show was amazing, loved the graphics, lighting and special effects, especially those focusing on Immi (which was the song that had a mirror effect, and Immi was doing things with her hands? Was an earlier one)
Headlock was absolutely incredible and totally blew me away, the atmosphere sent continuous chills down my spine . As mentioned above, it wasn't totally intimate like Bush Hall but it was different (and in a good way).
I can't believe It's Good to be in Love was played, when that came on I was nearly in tears..
cwiss, you mentioned a live CD, is this something that could potentially happen? Would love to have one. |

Last night's show was indeed brilliant. And while I realise I'm'supposed' to say that cause I work with Immi, I'm saying because I thought it was fantastic! I was so proud of Immi last night!
I thought the sound she had was by far the best at any of the UK shows I've seen (helps being in a bigger venue), it was really kicking and the visuals & lighting were awesome. Mox was mixing and triggering the visuals live - most of the footage was pre-recorded and he was 'mixing' it in together live during the show, which I thought was amazing! I loved the footage of Immi dancing and also the shot which mixed a live camera of Immi playing piano in with the footage of driving down the highway, giving the effect that she was zooming along the road with her piano - it looked awesome!
I also especially enjoyed the moment where Immi came out from behind her gear and sang and danced in the middle of the stage - that was really a highlight for me because she's so full of energy, it's almost a shame she's stuck behind the keyboard so much - I hope in the future she comes out front even more!
I really like what Zoe added to the songs too, it was really cool have some live instrumentation - 'Can't Take It In' really works with the piano/cello too.
All in all, a superb night - two thirds of the way through I was already thinking about Shepherd's Bush!
Oh and both supports were great too - Duracell is a madman!
It was also great to hear 'It's Good To Be In Love' - I love the solo piano version of that! |

Awww guys...it sounds like you had an amazing time.
I feel really sad that I couldn't be there. Instead I got to fight my way through protestors outside Jerry Springer in Birmingham (slightly exaggerated), which was a different kind of fun.
So did she perform "Can't Take It In"? I hope someone has got a video of that song. Does anyone have a set list? |

So, last night then…
Firstly I’d like to send huge congratulations and thanks to Immi.
Thank you for a fabulous evening’s entertainment. It was a real pleasure to see you
back in London - and playing to a sold-out Scala too - and just wonderful to get to hear
you perform your music again. Definitely a gig to remember.
I was at both The Bedford and Bush Hall shows and felt that last nights performance
was a big step forward. No noticeable technical gremlins this time and even the “quite
difficult” songs were performed flawlessly. I think the shows Immi has done in the States
have really allowed her to hone her skills as a live solo artist and I honestly think we
were treated to Immi at her best last night. Brilliant stuff.
To echo what James and others have already said:
The visuals worked very well and were a very welcome addition to the show.
(I too particularly liked the “Immi dance” and “Highway” clips.) The “Synchronised
Swimmers” film shown between sets was bizarre but also kind of fascinating.
The sound at the Scala really was much better than Bush Hall.
Agree with James that it was great to see Immi freed from her keyboards for a while
and able to really, *cough* ‘let go’ centre stage! I love that she does capture all her
samples and builds her music live but it was good to see her out from behind the
keyboards.
I enjoyed both the support artists, although I did worry that Duracell might end up needing
oxygen from the venue’s medical staff after his first couple of songs. He certainly gave it
his all.
Thought Zoe was really interesting but her set was a bit spoiled by people talking. I wish
people would just show a little more respect for the artist and those who do want to
listen, particularly when it’s an acoustic artist. (Please, go to the bar if you just want to
chat.) I picked up a copy of her CD after the show as I felt I had missed so much of what
her music was about. Not had a chance to listen as yet. Thought it was great having Zoe
back on for part of Immi’s set. It worked very well having the cello adding its own special
warmth and texture to the songs.
I loved the fact that Immi had obviously been involved in all aspects of the show.
Picking the support artists and DJ, getting her friends to provide visuals and generally
making the Scala stage a home from home for herself with a fluffy rug behind her
keyboards and plants on the edge of the stage. Also cool that she came on to introduce
both the support acts herself.
Overall a brilliant night and I left the venue feeling that I’d seen a very special show.
I was also really pleased for Immi. Glad for her that it had all worked so well and that
she’d been able to share her musical vision with us in such wonderful way.
Congratulations again Immi, it really was a fantastic night.
Ian
Oh, I know the live CD idea was shelved for this show but if there is a good ‘off the desk’
recording of the gig then perhaps the songs could be made available as downloads?
I’d happily pay for the tracks if they were made available at a good bitrate. |

im after watching all the videos over again.
The visuals are mind blowing. Ive been to alot of big gigs and I hvae to say the lighting and visuals where on par with NIN and Interpol. It was fantasticc.
She seemed happy to be performning back in the Uk and she is so much more slick. Headlock with the cello is amazing too.
COME HERE BOY LIVE WOW |

What another Amazing Immi gig, it was just out of this world.
I was so happy Immi played Come Here Boy, that is probably my favourite Immi song. I was listening to a live version I have before the gig and I was thinking how great it would be if Immi played it!
Also the piano version of It's Good to Be In Love was so beautiful.
Like most people I think it was great to see Immi away from the keyboard and having a good old dance, lets hope we get to see that more often.
When I think how far Immi has come since I first saw here at the Bedford, she just gets better and better, making every show different. Im already counting down the days till I see her next at the Shepherds Bush Empire.
Love You Immi!!!!!!!!!! |
