Be it good or bad press when it comes to red carpet fashion, standing out is the thing to do and guys as we all know...Immi did just that! Which is a good thing even if some stuffy people are into cookie cutter images, screw them!

I think SHE stole the show in a lovely way in my opion and now, she will be on T.V. for weeks and yeah people will be looking for the pictures and then "Who the hell is this"...GOOGLE....ImogenHeap.com...hear's the i-player and.....a new fan is hooked"

Exposure she shall recieve!

Here are a few, we can add more as we find them....well shit it's 4:00 A.M. I need my beauty sleep!

G'night maties and enjoy when you awake

Heap of Horror
Best new artist nominee Imogen Heap stole the red carpet scene for her over-the-top homage to a . . . who knows what? Maybe Bjork could understand what she was up to, but we hated it all: the black tights, white boots, parasol and garden in her hair.
-Boston herald

Best new artist nominee Imogen Heap channeled her offbeat, ethereal music into her wacky wood-nymph ensemble, pairing a houseplant hat with a ruffled Can-Can skirt and some "Factory Girl"-style white boots.
Lily pads, a fringed umbrella and a pet rubber frog rounded out the eclectic mix created by young L.A. designer Pinar Eris, who contacted Heap through MySpace.com.
"This took me about an hour this morning, pinning on the leaves," Heap said of her verdant coif. "I have to do whatever it takes (to get attention)."

Grammy Award nominee IMOGEN HEAP stunned the red carpet at the prizegiving in a lily-leaf outfit, designed by a fan.?Los Angeles designer PINAR ERIS contacted the British singer through her MySpace website and offered to make her a foliage-inspired outfit.?Speaking on the red carpet before the Grammys, Heap said, "I thought I'd make a little bit of an effort... Pinar Enis got in touch with me through MySpace and wanted to make me a dress." The outfit came with real lilies pinned on a black gown and shrubbery in Heap's hair.?She added, "We spent this morning pinning lilies on the dress... It's just amazing."

Welcome to High School v. 2.0! - There will always be talk about deviations from any conformed majority. If everyone dressed like Imogen and someone came in waring an Oscar de la Renta dress or something everyone's focus would be different. I don't believe theres anything wrong with the "cookie cutter" feel of todays high high fashion needs, and there is nothing wrong with Imogen at all.

To each their own and agree to disagree! Way to command the red carpet wtih you're utter presence and sheer confidence Immi, I love you and wish more people took chances at fun events such as this one! And yeah like Maggie said, screw all the haters.

You're on top of the hill Immi, a true innovator, all the rest are down below looking up and are nothing but imitators!

How much do I LOVE that she wore a dress that a fan designed, especially a fan that got in contact with her through myspace!

Girl's got hundreds of thousands of fans, and she manages to try and make everyone feel important and special Smile

I thought she looked awesome. I squealed with glee... a little bit of fantasy and fun injected into a overly slick and false feeling event!

These people, as Dr. Carl Jung would say, are part of the "Collective Conformitee" they only think "good" is "normal"

But atleast, this will get Immi somemore attention!

Poor Immi. I was watching a short little clip of her entrance on E and you could tell she was extremely nervous with all the attention she was getting.

*Yawn* g'morning*

Well, I think the more attention the better, as long as it's not negitive attention to her art and music. (And who in God's name in the industry would do that!)

People are either gonna love the outfit or hate it with no inbetween.

Still she looked hot and carried her self well.

as i posted on another thread:

okay the way i see it? immi's music sets her apart...but in a HUGE sea of people and artists immi was SMART enough to be original and really take a chance and stand out last night...
i think she knew she was being over the top and knew it may look super fun to people who know all about her but be surprising to some...

WELL IT WORKED!!!
immi succeeded the same way Bjork did at the Oscars...now EVERYONE will know who she is...Bjork probably gained tons of new fans when people saw her outfit, checked out her music then loved what they heard...i mean even my grandmother knew who Bjork was after that (i loved Bjork's outfit by the way that year )
so consider this not only fun style on immi's part but also the smartest business decision should ever could have made even if unintentionally...
now every magazine, entertainment news show and more will be talking about this unique creature known as Imogen Heap and soon it will all be overshadowed by the just unbelievably inspiring and wonderous music she creates

i cannot wait!
good work immi...
me and blue love, respect and admire you and soon the whole world will know what we knew LONG ago.

congratulations
xoxo

Perez Hilton placed Immi and her dress in his "If you are easily offended section".

http://perezhilton.com/topics/if_you_are/if_you_are_easily_offended_20070212.php

His comments weren't half as bad as some of the posters' comments, though.

Meh. No such thing as bad press.

I can't believe how nasty those places are getting. It hurts *my* feelings, for some reason, heh.

I still think she looked cute.

People don't understand Personal Style.
They like people having the simple nice gowns.

Imogen trash heap? Aww that's cruel...

Here's what was on AOL today...

MOTHER EARTH?
Best New Artist nom Imogen Heap is destined to take Grammy's worst dressed crown -- she seems a little TOO in touch with nature in her foliage-inspired outfit.

Not as bad as that or the perez one...But still..People don't get herr...-_-'

the dress, if nothing else, was a tangible manifestation of immi's joie de vivre, her way of saying "i wanted to make a statement, i wanted to go 'hello, i'm here.' it's my first grammys, and i'm wearing a pond-like themed skirt, and i've got a frog." i mean, who else BUT immi?

I was saddened to miss the Grammys last night and her being noticed on the red carpet. I hope there are some videos and more pictures of her wonderful outfit. I still think it's amazing, creative, and odd in a delightful way.

And here I wait to have a chance to help inspire Immi, even if it's in a subtle way, because she's done so much for me aesthetically.

I don't understand how you can comment on peoples apparel without knowing abotu the inner person. I believe it to be rude. But they were saying as i was watching the TV guide channel that she looked liek she got dressed but a squirrl and that since she had a song in Narnia she brought the world of it with her. Noww tastee

So many threads on the one thing.

Ok heres what I got to say.
The dress is amazing. The concept of a black pond is a great idea for the dress.
Immi is in an alternative circle and her style is alternative and one of a kind just like her music. This backlash was to be expected and immi probably doesnt care.
She is getting so much attention because of the dress. Bjork got slated for her style.............and she is a genius and still going strong.

I just watched the same show. Just because she wore something different and kind of out there doesn't mean its bad. Everybody else out just went to a famous designer for a fitting, got some free clothes and went to the show. Our girl however was cool enough to let a fan make a dress for her and a bitchin' one at that. My favorite part was the hair though because thats what everybody seemed to be commenting on.

And I wonder if Melissa Rivers realizes that she is on some of the Worst Dressed list as well.
