"Goodnight and Go" is AMAZING!!! I freely admit that I have been late to the Imogen Heap party, coming to you via Frou Frou, but you continue to amaze and inspire me. Your writing, both musically and lyrically, is incredible, and the the arranging (especially your uniquely gifted voice) is superb.

I like your preview track Goodnight & Go very much. At times it sounded experimental which gives an unfinished feel to it.... but each time i thought it was going to go this way, you brought it back with the melody and a bursts of powerful harmony that sounded complete... so the only criticism i have is now gone.. and im left with GREAT TRACK...
ps, you are damn lucky you have a flawless voice... it gives you a platform to experiment with music and can make anything sound perfect..
ps i know nothing about music... so feel free to throw these thoughts in the bin...

Months of lurking around the site and sponging the info and the Immi-love, tonight I have to send some of my own.
Best $1.50 I've spent in ages. Considering taking everything off my iPod and putting just this on, just to keep on basking in its niftiness and to thoroughly wear it out like I tend to do with songs.

I know you're not going to get rich quick with this, but I love that the tune can be had and our monetary support can go directly to the artist. ...and as I came to be Imogen-aware through your appearance on Jeff Beck's CD, having him show up on this track is icing on the cake.

OH...MY...GOD...What's it like to be young, loaded with talent, and gifted with a voice that can make "a complete stranger break down and cry"?I've been playing "Goodnight And Go" nonstop all night. I'm stunned. A musician myself, I kind of thought all the good songs had already been written, but how wrong I was. Everything Immi does practically moves me to tears - even the happy stuff like "Flicks".

hahaha, I just noticed how I'm about the sixth person posting here who has a single post to their name. I guess pre-releasing "Goodnight and Go" did a double positive, since people are finally getting the nerve to sign up for the msg board! Like someone mentioned before me, I too am a Frou Frou-er who found herself spellbound by Immi's amazing voice, which later led to the stalking of this website's news page (until I found the email updates function). For week I've been listening to the advance clips on the audioplayer, just KNOWING this upcoming album would be phenomenal. If "Goodbye and Go" is any indication of what's to come, then I am not only right, but I may very well be clairvoyant.
I love how I can listen to this song over and over and still find something new about it each time. Whether it be some bass loop, drum sample, or crazy electronic blip, it amazes me to no end how layered the production is. From what I understand, Immi's spent a long time creating the new album and that effort is totally reflected in "Goodbye and Go." I get the feeling her new album be will much more Frou Frou oriented than iMegaphone oreiented. However, that is not to say her new stuff is any Frou Frou imitation or replica. In fact, I think Immi has created an album that blends and reflects both her Frou Frou experience and iMegaphone beginning. It also captures something else though...something newer, more mature, and experimental and because of that I am on pins and needles waiting for 2005 to come about faster. |

I have only heard the sampler for Goodnight and Go, (I have signed up fo paypals - now its the waiting game). Anyway, am totally enraptured by the song, have also listened to the advanced edits of "Daylight Robberty
and "Just for Now" and if all three ar eany indication of the calibre of the album to come then the wait of expectation will probably kill me.
As an aside, it is so cool that immi responds to some of the posts, just one thing if you ever get really, really, really ridiculously famous dont flip out and do a maria carey in your blog, please |
