The show was stunning!!!!
The only issue was that alot of people were singing rather poorly and loudly,
and all I wanted to hear was immi sing.
I'll post pictures and give a more thorough review later. |

Well I just got back from another Imogen Heap concert and once again she put on a fantastic show. Her performance was more polished and she seemed much more comfortable on stage than the last show here back in January (comes with more touring experience I guess). It was nice to hear a few different songs from the last show in the city, 'Speeding Cars' the b-side from the 'Goodnight & Go' cd single was a nice addition, but she didn't perform 'Can't Take It In' from the Narnia soundtrack which I thought she would. She performed a short acapella version of 'Hallelujah' (for only the second time live), and recounted her brush with the cookie box police in Knoxville which was a fun story. Imogen also mentioned she had been up late mixing some 'live' songs for iTunes Canada, so keep an eye out for those being available soon.
There was a crush of people trying to meet Immi afterwards and I was lucky enough to speak briefly with her again and got a few more things signed. Ryan Obermeyer who designed the 'Goodnight And Go' artwork was helping at the merchandise booth so I got him to sign my G&G cd single also. She was gracious with all the fans and everyone left feeling great I'm sure. I saw some iBabblers there (A-Train, Aggie, & KnowItAll)
Set List:
Just For Now (acapella version) - great version
Goodnight & Go
The Walk
Come Here Boy
Loose Ends
Speeding Cars (with Zoe Keating)
Headlock (with Zoe Keating)
Clear The Area (still waiting for a full electronic version of this track live)
Let Go
Have You Got It In You? (with Zoe Keating)
Hide & Seek
Encores:
Hallelujah (acapella)
Daylight Robbery
The Moment I Said It |

It's such a shame that a lot of you iBabblers are so shy.
I met a few of you peeps tonight and enjoyed talking with you guys.
"Knowitall", "mikehanley?" , "Aggie", "Evie_chan", "Stefan" It was my pleasure to meet you folks. Like you are here, you are gracious in person.
("Stefan"- You should have stuck around for another ten minutes Sir !!)
We almost gave up, but our patience was rewarded with an intimate meeting with Immi and Zoe.
Poor Immi was so visibly exhausted when she exited the Guvernment.
She had her hands full with a case of bottled water and some files or something.
(This was @ approx. 10:45PM)
(At approx. 9:50) She met with approx. 50 (or so) fans and signed, chatted and put on a smile for many photos.
I was so upset as i was watching this happen not more than
100 feet away from me and could not join the line. We apparently grabbed the wrong exit and were denied access back into the "Club" ?
The security guys seemed to derive pleasure from denying us access to see Immi.
I took each of their pictures and asked their names (not forthcoming) to be able to document this atrocity. As you may have guessed , they were not impressed. (I didn't really care at this point)
The outdoor air was beautiful as was Immi's tour bus.
That seemed a good focal point.
Needless to say, my evening was fulfilled when I finally met Ms.Heap and got my S4Y signed and got a photo with her.
I asked her if she would ever consider performing "Flicks" on her own.
(That's not gonna happen) and If she would have a look at her iGrill questions that are pending.
After the ten (or so) of us stragglers were looked after by Immi. She asked if we were OK and then she proceeded to do some pretty spinning dance routines towards her bus in her beautiful white dress.
My buddy (who joined me on this adventure) said that he has never seen an artist so accommodating towards her fans. All six feet of her did the most phemonimal dance away from us as a way of saying "Goodnight And Go".
That surrealistic exit by Immi is what dreams are made of.
May sound corny, but magic comes in many forms and that was one of them. Simply F****** Beautiful !!
Oh Yeah, there was some music played tonight also.
Zoe was marvelous.
I do not understand the cello. I don't know how to even appreciate what a good cellist sounds like.
Folks, I paid attention to Zoe's playing and all I know is that she is good at what she does.
She made that instrument produce some very beautiful music.
(I guess the fact that her Mother was in the audience had nothing to do with her desire to shine ?)
Imogen Heap was so-so !!!!
^
^
^
So ! So ! embedded in my soul right now that further elaboration will be forth coming.
She promised a return visit in November (as with all you'z USA folks)
and all we can do is wait.
Loose Ends - Primal Scream =
Daylight Robbery = dancing queen
Hallelujah (?) = vocal beauty
The spontaneity of Immi's live show leaves me breathless.
She capitalizes on her technical misfortunes to make repair appear rehearsed. Her humour seems so natural as the stalking nature of G&G
is fiction.
Immi is a natural born live performer and yours truly just simply can't say much more than that.
Thanks for performing in Toronto Immi !!

I am sorry to go on and on and on ...
I have to process at least 127 photos and some video also.
Immi signed my S4Y sleeve and I said that iBabbler#1538 would like a photo with her. When she asked why, I said for avatar purposes.
(JK) She didn't ask why, but I did mention the avatar intention.
Time to get processing !! I'll sleep next week !!

Yeah I would have stayed but my friend and I had other plans, and it was getting a bit too late to wait around.
Ah well, I will try again in November to meet her.
Regardless, I came for the show, and it was great. I like the fact that the songs arent exactly the way they sound on the cd recordings. Makes the live performance more interesting.

OH Sammy ...
Poor Immi... Stammered through the beginning of it.
It was comical to some, but not to me ...
BUT When she sang it through and through ... It was just F****** Beautiful.

OH so what !!
Did you want to step into the ID forum and say hello to us prior to taking credit for Immi being born in your back yard ??
Immi's not a export , Immi's a gift to the world , that only Immi can exploit. Sorry, just saw her 8 hrs ago and the effects haven't worn off yet !!

What an amazing show.
I have like 8 videos...most of my pictures came out crap because of the lighting.
I'll try and get some uploaded by the end of the day. |

I too was ushered out the wrong exit and missed meeting her with the rest of the crowd. I waited out front for a good hour or so and it was great to meet her with out the rush of a big crowd.
She signed the back of my goodnight and go CD and drew an airplane and wrote YES PLEASE. Last time she was in T.O doing her video I emailed her to see if she would like to go flying over the city! Surprisingly she said YES and wanted to go but had no time. She hoped that we could go another time.
Anyways she still would like to go an I hope there will be time in NOV.
Great night, much more polished then the last show... Great sound. Great night! |

| The Toronto show was amazing. I brought two friends who have never been to a concert before and had pestered me for a long time to get tickets to her show if Immi came back to Toronto. Thank you again for coming! However, I found the venue people quite rude. I was in the front by the stage and when Zoe Keating started to play they kept opening and closing the side doors by the bar area making a lot of noise. Although she may have been an "opening act" the lack of respect for an artist performing did not go unnoticed by me and several people around me. Then when we were all leaving the staff was literally yelling at her fans to leave and those stopping to see her and maybe snap a quick picture were harrassed to keep moving. I stood there listening to two staff members saying why she was there and what was the hold up with people leaving. Then they just shrugged their shoulders and started to yell at people to move. Sorry Immi if they were rude to you. But we're really nice people! |

I loved the version it was amazing.
I know the venue security was ushering us all out like cattle, I just ignored the guy who was shouting in my ear and stood my ground. I wanted to tell him off, another security guy was starting a fight with one of her fans, and as bouncers usually get all hiked up on their male machismo, he was starting to intimidate the fan with his body size which I found rather disgusting, considering this guy didn't do anything wrong. He just wanted to meet Immi like the rest of us wanted.
I appologize if I sound so negative, don't get me wrong I still had a blast at the show and Immi is an amazing dedicated person, So personable , She must of signed everyones stuff, and not once did I see her brush anyone off heh, she looked very tired though and I don't blame her, seemed like she had a long day. |

You know "Mari", I had plenty of time to "study" the "armed" guards last night. Ego-Mainiacs with pipes of steel and an IQ to match.
I watched them being so rude with younger ladies just looking for a place to dance, thinking that there manism's would get them laid or something.
If it wasn't for the fact of wanting to meet Immi and trying to be civil, I was quite prepared to take a piece of their ... Awwww !! I was sooo miffed !!
I won't elaborate, as they don't deserve the "Airtime".
My buddy had to restrain me a couple of times. I found their security staff
to be very predictable. It was like watching "Corporate America" or "Canada" trying to skim the tops off the dignity of our intelligence.
I so wanted to smack that 6'-5", 260lb meatball who was head "Bouncer-Wannabe" at the rear doors.
I have "so" met his kind before.
"A-Train" - "Just for Now" exceeded my expectations. (Expectations that were set way too high to start with)
Just watching Immi "build" that song was so beautiful !!
Enough of my tirades now !!
As shy as you peeps were, I am happy that you enjoyed the experience as much as I did.
