I hope I can get some pics from this show. The House of Blues doesn't allow photography unless the artist says it's ok. I've called and asked several times, and they keep telling me there is no photography allowed!

Well, just got back from the show, and I'm so sad it's over! Crying or Very sad

Immi was beautiful as always! Even though there were a few glitches here and there, it was still and amazing show! I particularly enjoyed all the funny things she said, and when she made her little noise to clear her throat or whatever, very cute. I think she talked about it in an interview that was posted here somewhere. She said it's the noise she makes before she goes on stage. Here is the set list:

Just For Now (really cool acapella version)
Goodnight and Go
Come Here Boy
The Walk
Loose Ends
Speeding Cars Smile
Headlock
Clear the Area
Let Go
Have You Got It In You
Hide and Seek

encore:
Blanket (which was amazingly beautiful!)
Daylight Robbery
The Moment I Said It

Immi said this was her first time doing a show in Vegas, and that she might be coming back this way sometime in November. ***crossing fingers***

I hope if she does come back she chooses a different venue than House Of Blues though. They don't allow cameras Mad and the background noise from all the rude people who like to sit at the bar and talk the whole concert, is horrible!

I tried to stay around to meet her again, but the HOB people basically kicked everyone out right after the show to get ready for the next show they were doing.

I did get to meet some wonderful iBabblers though! SammyJ, Toasty, and Mokachu. It was a pleasure meeting you guys! Very Happy
I hope if you stuck around after I left, that you did get to talk to Immi.

I hope Immi knows that even if she forgets a lyric, or has a few technical difficulties, her true fans love her just the same. Thank you for another amazing evening Immi! Smile

Things started out getting to meet fellow poster Pansy girl and her sister..
that was a pleasure!

Zoe opened with a beautiful set of her music and set the mood for the night, she was friendly and gave the open impression that the evening would be a casual and loose show since there is alot of fiddling around with knobs etc to achieve the results that a one person show requires.
I enjoyed watching the process and she had a pretty easy set.

With the obvious technical glitches aside I cant convey how incredible it was to see her live versions of the music I have come to love. Some tunes were so much more powerful than the recorded pieces that it blew me away.
Each version was a delight and while I am so used to hearing her music from the recorded versions (I tend to over indulge myself), It was like getting the cool remix and some pieces were very minimal and quite beautiful. A very nice surprise was the song "Blanket" which I never heard before and really loved.

The House of Blues Venue was hard to deal with. The bars were making margaritas with loud machines and using metal shakers for martinis and generaly making quite a bit of noise, so that the people in the background areas were almost encouraged to talk and sound like they werent into the show. I even had two girls who only went to the show to hear "Let go" because they talked constantly next to me and only sang along (quite out of key) to that song. I actually begged them to give me just one song that they would be quiet for.. they were actually nice enough to accomodate me.. for only one song though. Most of the time the sound was loud enough to drown them out so I wasnt tooo put out. In fact beyond the feedback moments and the microphones not being up when they needed to be at all times, the sound was beautiful and I felt I could hear almost everything clearly.

Imogen called for her throat syrup during the set and I hope it was only a case of what is well known here as "Vegas Throat" and not something she was coming down with.
As a singer that performs here in the Desert I would like to offer some advice.. she needs a humidifier on her bus if she doesnt have one when touring in the dry climates like this. This became so apparent to me that when I work in coastal areas, I dont have to struggle to hit my high notes and then as soon as I am back here I am working harder for it .. until I got my humidifiers. I would make sure to get a portable one so you can set it on stage and take to hotel rooms if needed.

For those people out the reading this that are not technically involved in music I wish I could explain to you what a marvel her set was from my point of view. She pulled off what I consider to be one of the most amazing achievments ever. She has her hands full at all times and does not do it Karaoke style. She is truly doing it the hard way and quite well.
I am completely impressed with her. I appreciated the little mistriggerings and all... I loved every minute of her set!

It was cool to hear all the sampling Zoë did, but unfortunately by the third song so many people started to get bored with her and resorted to loud, obnoxious chatting.

Imogen did a great job even though she was having some problems with her voice. At least she openly admitted it, which was kind of a way of letting the audience know this is a fun and down-to-earth performance. Her dancing was really cute and it was nice to see her get into her songs, which, in turn, got the crowd going. (One girl in the floor seating especially got into it by doing some funky dancing by her seat that was pretty funny to watch.)

House of Blues was honestly the worst venue I've ever been to. My group had no idea the benches were reserved seating and so after Zoë left we were kicked off one since another group had passes to sit. (It's rather pathetic you need a special pass to be able to sit down.) HoB could have easily put a reserved sign on the benches. After that we migrated over to the upper left standing area (bar area closest to the exit stairs). Yeah, it was basically the corner, but the view wasn't that bad and it was pretty close to the stage. The bars were really noisy, which, in turn, "encouraged" the people hanging around them to talk constantly. The sound booth was having "issues", in my opinion. It needed to compensate for all the noise, but it didn't. This made it very hard to understand what Imogen was saying sometimes. The whole layout was just completely ridiculous. Seating down below and standing with constant chattering a few steps up. Too bad the balcony area wasn't used instead of the standing area, but HoB wants to profit from overpriced drinks.

Anyway, I could go on and on about House of Blues. I ranted in another thread about Imogen only doing an exclusive meet and greet, but now I feel she was just an innocent bystander. The real problem was HoB. I guess it didn't want to deal with too many fans. We were herded out like cattle so they could get ready for another show that started quickly afterwards (which probably created too much chaos for a public meet and greet). Talk about money hungry. Well, House of Blues is corporate and that's all major corporations care about.

If Imogen does come to Vegas again in November and isn't performing at House of Blues, I may fly down again. Hopefully, I'll get to meet some of you guys, too.

I couldn't agree more. I got general admission tickets rather than assigned seats, because I decided last minute that I had to go see Imogen in Vegas after seeing her awesome show in Pomona just three days before. I hated not being able to hear anythig she said. That is the venue's fault.

I've seen her in two previous perfomances. It seemed like her voice was at 70% for this show (which is still amazing). I'm just saying don't let this be the only time you see her live, because if you liked this, she will absolutely blow you away when she's at her best. It's interesting what you say about "Vegas throat", because when we talked to her after the show she said it wasn't that she was sick or anything.

She's awesome, as always.
