Just about 2 hours until the show in Ferndale (Detroit)...I have a feeling that despite the weather (27 f with light snow) this is going to be a great show!
Babysitters (yes 2) are all lined up, wife is returning from teaching her dancing class early, and my daughter and I were just jumping to some Immi. Good times indeed! |

WOW - cracking show Immi. I'll rant like a madman tomorrow (bloody cell phone chatters! I mean, what is THAT important), but it was truly special. Thanks so much for your soulful voice, people in the crowd were really grooving. My highlights were "goodnight and go" and "loose ends". I just can't get enough of those songs, and of course gn+go reminds my wife and I of when we first got together (sappy!).
More later, but it really was smashing. Sorry about the drunken idiots @ the bar, next time please charge some real $$ to get the casual drinkers out -- at least I know when to keep it quiet when I tipple...
If you are reading this and have any doubts about seeing Im in concert, please just do it. She is the real thing and is undeniably talented...magical even. |

I was just listening to 'Speak' and it reminded me of the absolute kick-ass version of "Daylight Robbery" during the show last night. Chills up the spine and all that, to say that it was powerful is a massive understatement. I didn't know what to expect when Im said that she felt "a bit like rocking out tonight", but she cranked it up but good. I think that 'blew the roof off that sucka' fits. She was very obviously into it with her dancing and all that. Pure joy! Loud joy!
<rant on>
She might have been reacting to all the sideshow going on in the bar area. What kind of person pays their money to see a show like Immi's and then proceeds to talk, chat, drink, laugh, and call people on their cell phones DURING the show? At least Immi could hold her own (that bass box was kickin' last night!), but poor Zoe. I think that the mgmt. left the LOUD air handlers on during Zoe's opening act, and on top of that, some people couldn't be bothered to stop their conversations long enough to allow Zoe's beautiful music to be comprehended Sorry Zoe - you are great. I think that modern society is teaching people that their needs come first: I must be available via cell phone at all times, I must drive like I own the road, MY needs come first, etc. I hate to say that, but I'm increasing confronted with rude behavior - on the roads, at the store, in the movie theater...and I'm getting sick of it.
<rant off>
Anywho, it sure was a good show last night. Next time let's try a different venue (DTE Music Center in July anyone?) and my wife and I, along with ten thousand+ other people, will show up and gladly pay the difference
Sorry for the bring down peeps, but seeing Immi sort of shows you how good it can be... |

Ugh… one busy, busy day today! :0) I'm extremely tired...hope that makes up for my writing today...
What can I say except it absolutely fantastic! The energy…the beauty…the humor! Hehe. After one of the songs towards the beginning of the performance, Immi suddenly said, “I used to go out with a boy who lived in Flint!” Then mentioned his name and asked if anyone knew him.
It was one of those performances that leave you incredibly sad that it’s over; that you’ll never experience any show like it again. Yet, you’re in shock that you were there and you’re tremendously thankful that you had the opportunity to see Immi rock on and sing her heart out. I went from laughing in between songs to head bobbing to almost shedding a tear when she sang “Let Go” (soooo beautiful)
Zoe's performance was absolutely amazing. I've got to get my hands on her CD. pure genius
And yeah, Placebo, that was awful that the people in the back kept talking. Ugh....
So…here are some pictures from the show…(It was very hard to get good ones since I couldn’t use flash…for obvious reasons. Completely fine…)
So, here was her pretty little set up! I was so happy that I actually got this close!
Mmm Mbira (on which she played “Clear the Area”)
Apparently, there was a “computer crash”! Well, obviously not anything major though. She had it up and running in no time.
(pardon my bad hair...windy out) Finally…Immi and I. Such a kind person. I was able to give her a little card that my sister and I made for her, thanking her for the cool contest prizes we won back in May. She smiled and said a warm thank you. I hope she liked it. :0)
So…well, there it is. I may have some video files up soon…just some little quick ones. Sorry if i went on and on....
I’m surprised that not too many are commenting on this show!!! Where are you guys??? |

Uh oh...no pics! Perhaps they are invisible!?
Super show, crashed a table with two wonderful ladies and we went from rage at the unfortunate cell phoners to crying with laughter when it kept going on, and on, and on! |

I was excited when I heard that for the first time in 7 years that I was going to have a chance to see the wonder that is Imogen Heap. That was back in September when you came to town for the "Hotel Cafe Tour" Then imagine my excitement when I found out on Christmas Eve that I was going to have the Honor of seeing you perform live yet again, this time at a more intimate venue.
You were awe inspiring as usual, I will be at every one of your Detroit shows, from now until forever. Love the piano. I was so excited to see that you played a song from your first record I megaphone. If I may, i would love to hear you perform "Angry Angel", "Come Here Boy", and "Oh me. Oh my" Live.
Zoe was awesome, thank you for having such an awesome opening act. Another preformer I am now truely devoted to.
here are some pics I took from the show.....

The One and Only Imogen Heap and I after the Show!!!!
Immi, I can't wit to see you live again. You mentioned that you were going to be in Nashville sometime in April. I am seriously thinking about taking a road trip...So I might see you in Nashville, until then have a great tour. |

Cool pic's ...
Wow , you are so fortunate to have known about immi for that long.
i only wish i could have ...
Immi must be just totally exhausted after her shows.
What a soul , to make that time for her fans afterwards
I hope she takes some time off after her N/A tour and homeward stint
to at least gather "home" again. |

Super job on the pics! Thanks very much for that
I remembered another nugget from the show - remember when she came out on the stage and none of the mics would work? Finally she resorted to leaning waaay over to Zoe's cello mic (probably knee high) and introducing herself? We were rolling at that - I'm was glad that she is so relaxed on stage...
It's just as well as all the shows are selling out. I'd love to go 'on the road' to see her oh, like 5 more times! |

| This show was amazing! Zoe Keating was hypnotizing a perfect opener for Imogen. And omg Imogen! I was totally blown away. I was amazed by how stunning and charming she was and how dead on the vocals were! What an amazing voice! I've been to alot of shows and have never been as impressed as I was that night. I hope that I have another chance to see her perform again in the near future. |

If you would like to hear an interesting interview with Zoe Keating (the opener for Imogen Heap) -- I did one with her after the show... there are 3 songs of hers in the podcast that I host...
you can either do a search through i-tunes - (serach bar hop sessions)
