Though I'm new here, I figured I should say something. Britney's new single is due to be released around the world, but not in the US. Over To You Now will be a Japanese B-Side, along with two others. And according to what James said, Immi and Guy worked on it with Britney. However, I just have to say something. Even if Immi were to work with the most obscure artist, or the most famous, I would be happy for her. I think it's a little immature to still be so anti-Britney and anti-generic pop. I understand everyone's extreme hatred toward her, but there's plenty of people who can say the same about your music. Be happy that she's broadening her horizons. I am. It shows that she isn't BIASED and works with all types of artists.
And as a general plea for mercy, the cheetos jokes went stale a year ago. She was photographed with a bag of them like...twice. Last year. Get over it. |

i crack myself up. |

That was mean, No need for name calling here! I don't come onto this board so I can see babblers call each other names, if you were kidding then you should say so, If you wern't, then it would be nice if you appoligized.
As for Britney, I cannot stand her as a person. But I hardly like her music anyways. My co worker said it best, Immi is way nice of a person and she sees the best in people and worked with Britney because of this. I know that Guy has worked with Britney in the past and that she obviously asked for him again because she realizes how talented he is. So I am willing to look past this and realize that Britney has very good taste in music. If she didn't, she wouldn't have asked for Guy and Immi. |

Pfft, that's mere conjecture, you're making assumptions about ppl you've never even met, this doesn't lend your view any more weight. In my case you're wrong on both counts. Anyway, regarding small CD collections, some ppl value quality over quantity.
I generally prefer art that that has "pure and noble motives", but not exclusively. Generally, for me, art that is done for purely for financial motives constitutes the lowest-common-denominator of musical forms, and lacks the depth, interest, and endurance of art that is a labour of love. Some art falls somewhere between the two, whatever, I judge everything on it's own merits, and in the case of this song, I don't like it....I don't like it at all.
There is plenty of market out there for money/success oriented art, but don't expect everybody to like or even respect it. Do, however, expect ppl to have, and voice, an opinion about it. Regardless of whether the music is "noble" or "financial", ppl either like it, or they don't. |

I don't think this topic is so grave that it needs to cause friction between fellow iBabbler's. We're all here for the same reason, our love for Immi. We should just love one another like we love Immi. ^_^
Ok, i didn't not mean that to sound like like a flower child statement. tee hee. But seriously, this isn't a place to attack one another. |

| I'm sure that this thread, like the song, will blow over and be forgotten about pretty quick, and we can get back to being happy. It's unfortunate that ppl can't accept other ppls opinions, and everyone has one about britney, and about this song. |

| Excellent tactical marketing move on Immi's part. Song is awesome--though, I would sell my mother for a copy without Britney's vocals ("oh, my God..." wtf is that?). Could be an intriguing instrumental. Ah, well. Looks like my mom stays put. -rene |

| Congrats to Britney (cuz I KNOW she's so reading this thread) on her new bundle o' joy. A little bouncing baby boy, I hear. (Only one--no twin, no orange 3rd, heehee) Maybe motherhood will....ah, nevermind. |

LOL lexy, yeah i was thinking that too, maybee motherhood will change her a bit, did you know that the reason that the Elle photographer made her wear what she did to soften up her image because people generally do not like the image she sends out. I do hope that she does stop dressing the way she does, that will give her more possitive attention and some respect. Or better yet, maybe Immi can give her some fashion tips. |

of course - i am NOT defending Britney, but the girl CAN sell some music and can also make fun of her own image (as she did on Saturday Night Live)
lest we forget Britney is VERY early in her musical trajectory - Madonna comes to mind in fact . . . her music was heavy-hitting pop and dance club fluff, her semi-trashy fashion statement struck fear in the hearts of the religious and mothers of teenagers everywhere. i think she INVENTED the midriff, and who could forget the wedding dress she wore and writhed around on the floor to "Like A Virgin" at an MTV award show.
But then following motherhood she went all spiritual on us, began practicing Yoga and got into Kabbalistic wisdom, so who KNOWS what Britiney may morph into given time and experience. |

| I just want to say one thing about the name calling thing....I think it was very obvious that Bradlee was joking around because of the little smiley that was used after the statement. If I'm being sarcastic about something on the internet, a lot of times I use a smiley afterwards to show that I'm just being silly and not serious. |

| I'm glad everyone is in the know now and we can just be happy for the industry (Guy) recognizing Immi's all encompassing talents. Meg's just trying to keep the boards safe for all of us. Thank you, SweetMeg. We know you have our best interests at heart. |

I totally agree. She hasn't really done much and she seems to be always in the spotlight. She has like one song from each of her CD's that have been somewhat big, and that's it. |
