HAHA, is the orriginal version of that song written by BT or did he remix it? I don't think i knew who BT was when that song came out, but the more i think about it, it does sound like something he'd do. Apparently he comes into the starbucks I work at every now and then because he grew up in the town next to mine. The worst part is i wouldn't recognize him if he came in, I'm terrible at recognizing famous people (you're damn right he's famous!!!) I have a sara mclaughlin remix of I Love You that i spin, it's probably my favorite track I own. Anyways, i talk to much.

I think it's cool that Immi does the background vocals... But to me that seems kinda like a step down. Immi's not ment to be a background vocalist. Plus that makes me not like Britney even more, she doesn't even do her own background vocals... Is it even her singing? lol.
It's cool Immi did a song with Britney, but Britney is all about the image, when Immi is all about the music. It just seems like a bad combo to me. |

Why wouldn't Immi write her a track. A lot of amazing people have written for her. Britney is one of the biggest popstars on the planet. Having Immi write for her just demonstrates Imogens huge talent and musical diversity and her lack of snobbery.
Plus Britney probably gave her a big paycheck which will come in handy to fund future Immi music. |

| I guess i can't really accuratly review the song due to my dislike of Britney. lol. Yes, it is cool that Immi is working with Britney, but they are just so completely different when it comes to music. It just seemed like an odd pair. lol. |

I didn't meet her, but Guy asked me into the studio to throw down some ideas as she was coming in a couple of days after to do the song "Everytime" with him. Her record company wanted a couple of other too. Guy did end up using quite a lot of my vocals! I hear he's quite a fan of my voice...
So there you have it! |

I like to respect singers who actually have talent and keep their clothes on in public, thank you very much. *Starts Crying* Immi working with Britney, poor Immi. I just hope Britney wasn't all like "I'm the best and your just a minion" with her.
As for the song, i like the background singing and the music, nothing else.
Hehe. Wow. Yes, I would have to agree with most of that... especially the bold part. Sheesh. Darn pop stars...
Yes, I listened to it...I do love the vocals, of course. So weird... I can't get over it either. |

i've been listening to the song over and over... and my friends have come to the conclusion that it's about britney's... um... you now what... yeah.... and it totally makes sense that it is
"i know this place, it's still a secret, and i don't think you've ever been. and it's kind of hard to find the entrance, you need some juice but you'll love it once you get in. a special place, it's in the basement, you have to work your way around. the place is hot, and then it's pumpin', so are you ready to go down?"
"if you behave, you might be chosen, just read the flyer and it tells you how to get there. and when you come (something i can't make out. sounds like you might be stuck yeah). baby what you waiting for?"
i still love the song... it's very fun |

ok, perhaps i'm a perv, but did anyone else around here interpret that in a TOTALLY PERVY MANNER?
this topic is like a loose tooth. it freaks me out, but i can't leave it alone. i need a nap. i want a black martini. oh, T2, if only you were here to sit by my side and make the bad stuff go away!
(just so we're clear- THRILLED that immi is being invited to fix up someone else's songs, say what you will, i'm sad it's a BS song.) |

| There was a thread a while back about "Singer or the song" I think. I am sad that people just disregard this music because the singer is slutty and has a pop appeal. Her music really is fun if you give it a chance. |

AhhhhhhHHHhh! I cna't believe it, Britney has been a favorite of mine forever and now Immi penned this song for her. How awesome, this is one of my few dream collabs, although I must say, I never would have guessed it.
And boo to all those Brit haters out there...she is a top-notch performer, there are different areas of talent, so it is good that Immi brought what she had and Britney gives what she has to produce the total package. The song has a real groove to it. It's really interesting! |

It's interesting to read all of this!
I think it's totally cool that Britney and Immi got together. The song has great energy! I think Britney finds different means of fan appeal than Immi does...and I'm not just talking about revealing clothing and such. Britney produces songs that are fun to listen to, for the most part, or songs that profess some sort of feeling she has. Whatev. I'm not really really into her music, but I like it for the most part. Her marketing is questionable, but I like her music.
I look to Immi for good music, feeling, and honesty, and I get it. I love her songs to death, and they are just as fun as Britney's to listen to. Immi is an attrative woman, but that's not why I listen to her music.
I'm looking at the songs. So yay.
I like this song... |

I remember that thread - I started it.
Marchy - my opinion has nothing to do with Brit (who I think puts on a pretty good live show, even if the music isn't that great) - it's all about the song.
The vocals are, at best, competent, but IMO quite unremarkable.
The lyrics are cheap and unimaginitive, and a desperate attempt to be provocative.
The McMusic is IMO generic, derivative, disposable trash. I find it harmonically, melodically, and rhythmically boring to the point of being supremely irritating, and ultimately, utterly pointless. So it will prolly be a huge hit.
Now I wouldn't give a fat rat's arse about any of this if Immi wasn't involved. I have liked, if not loved, every song that Immi has ever been associated with, so this is quite the surprise and disappointment.
So I'd be interested to know exactly how involved she was.
This is just my opinion, K? Anyways I better get off my high horse now.
I dunno, maybe I have put Immi on too high a pedestal over the years.
Maybe she needed the money - maybe if it hadn't been for the payment she recieved from this song, we wouldn't have got SFY? |

*shrugs* I doubt the money recieved for her contribution to this song funded S4Y.
Definitely the song over the singer .. I even enjoyed a few songs from Britney's last album.. Hey what can i say? If i like it .. I like it..
The best part of the track is the intro's melody w/Immi's vocals..The rest is just ehhhh .. meeeehh.... erm... ehhhh... I'm not cringing, but there's no real spark to the song's music...lyrics.. vocals etc...
Basically --- It's not horrible but it doesn't do anything for me either..
I was told this song is a b-side on a recent single.. The "b-side" and "already released" news makes me happy |

| Yeah, I see your point, skaro. The words aren't very deep, but I don't expect them to be. Hers is dance around in your underwear while cleaning house kind of music. |

If you listen at the end, the British Accent is apparent. Very apparent.
And so, that's the only evidence I can add.
But it's SO .... what the .... HAPPY!!?! WHAT IN THE HECK?
It makes me want to play Sonic The Hedgehog for my Sega CD (the one with the Robot Sonic) =)

It is definitely her. All those production licks and sounds: they're so many of Imogen's trademark sounds (at least from her latest album). For those of you who don't think Immi should be involving herself with someone like Britney please let me try to inform your view.
Britney Spears is an absolutely massive force in the music business, and while her skills are as a performer and a celebrity rather than songwriter or producer, she does what she does exceptionally well. By working with the world's most influential producers, Britney's music actually develops a cutting edge sound: within the narrow sphere of what is acceptable "pop" music, that is. It's never going to have the emotional depths of Immi's own material, as they are targeting at two completely separate markets, obviously.
It's an incredibly difficult task to write and produce something that is both cutting edge and still acceptable within the current sensibilities of pop music, and I think this record has done well on both fronts. Unfortunately, I don't think the actual "song" is strong enough in this to make it an enduring hit, but the production is really first class, and it has potential as a "grower" as a result.
To be invited to work with Britney is a massive honour, considering her management have pretty much the world to choose from. (and the list of producers she's had before is indicative of this). I say congratulations to Immi for this, and I would have to say that it is well-deserved: when I heard Immi's latest album I'd never heard production like it (and I produce music full time, btw)
If you come from the stable that believes art should have completely pure and noble motives, should not associate with those who have a keen eye for business, and not be made according to financial incentive, then you've obviously never tried to make a living as a musician. And your CD collection must be VERY small indeed.
Music has a variety of purposes and effects on people, and it's important not to limit it's value by insisting that it must affect people in the way you like it to move you.
Congratulations Immi, muchos inspirationas. |

So... one COULD say that Immi never really "worked" with Britney. She worked with Guy, who then worked with Britney. It's 6 degrees to Immi! Well, in this case, 2...
March - I perfer to save my fur undies dancing for Immi. |

| i read it, James my dove. so i know it's not like they sat down for coffee and cheetos or anything, or had a pillow fight or talked about boys and had slumber party facials. the comments i've made are as harsh as i'll get, 'cause i don't like to be very mean. also, i hate like fire to sound stupid, and i don't know enough about BS to make an educated statement about her ... um.... influence/status/whatever. i'm terribly happy that immi got to make her special mark on the song, and it's undoubtedly all the better for it. even if immi sang the betty crocker chocolate cake jingle, i'd be happy for her. |
