Wow, first vote and post! Smile

I chose The Moment I Said It.... it really hurt actually. Just looking at all of the other songs, thinking how I'll feel bad later for not choosing them *sigh* Of course I love the entire record, so it's hard to pick a favorite.

The reason I chose it:

It takes all of the elements from every other song on the album and combines it into this epic, lush piece of art.

-You have the obvious electronic that is present throughout the entire album.
-Of course Immi's etheral voice.... she especially shines on this track. She uses her range and really shows her chops
-One of my FAVORITE elements on the album is the strings. I am such a big fan of string sections. They can add SO much to a song. The strings on this track are... I can't even find the word.
-The piano! The piano is my single favorite instrument. It is so versatile and can convey so many emotions. The piano-tinged songs on I Megaphone always stood out to me, and that might be why this song stands out as well.
-Finally, THE LYRICS *faints* Immi, if you're reading, you write some of the most brilliant lyrics I have ever read, and I am NOT exaggerating. I listen to some very fine musicians, such as Tori Amos, Ani DiFranco, and Alanis Morissette. I love their lyrics. But you really have a style all of your own that attracts me. This is my favorite part of the song, and one of my favorite parts of the album:

The moment I said it.
The moment I opened my mouth.
Let in your eye lids
Bulldoze the life out of me.
I know what you're thinking.
But darling you're nothing constrained.
Suddenly things just happened, we can't explain…

*sigh* Oh, Immi. How I love thee more than words can possibly say! You have changed the way I'll look at music. Now, when I listen to a new artist, I'll immediately think, "Well, they're not as good as Imogen..."

For a single type of thing, I'd go for "Headlock," "Have You Got It In You?," "Loose Ends", "Clear The Area," or "The Walk."

As for my favorite out of all of them? I can't answer that for at least another month. While I do think that there are over 5 strong songs minus the ones already previewed elsewhere, some others may end up growing on me.

My current favorite is "Clear the Area," but "Headlock" and "Have You Got It In You?" come in a VERY close second. I'm voting for "Headlock" only cause it would be the best *next* single.

the walk!........ it's just so AWESOME..... it is exciting and fun to listen too..... i love how it flows and it's rad upbeat tempo.... and that really awesome low sounding urrrrrrrr sound...... i can't explain that haha..... AND THE CHORUS ROCKS MY SOCKS!........ and at the end how it gets all loud and crazy and rockish and WOOOOOOOOOH.... it's a sassy, sexy tune!.... hehe

i also love "i am in love with you", "headlock", "have you got it in you", "closing in", and "the moment i said it"

i think a song like "i am in love with you" would do well in the states... along with "headlock" and "the moment i said it"...... and of course.... "the walk".... hehe

Thank goodness for the stream version of this album... I couldn't wait for my copies to come in the mail

There are so many good tracks it is so hard to choose. So, I'm not voting until the true copy is in my hand

But right now it is between Loose End and Daylight Robbery

Why do you do this to me?!?! Sad

Anyway, I chose The Walk... but it was a really hard choice. I honestly don't know why I chose it, I think maybe it's because when I play the CD, I always go straight to number 8 first!

^^Seriously...I can't stop listening to The Walk!

And I must say...while Just For Now is not one of my faves (yet), the ending part with the "Get me out of here, get me out of here", etc... just kills me for some reason! The only way I can explain it is, beautifully painful.

*Not what I planned at all...I don't want to feel like this...Yeahhhh Yeah..."

I can't wait to have the digipack with lyrics...esp for the fast part...All I can make out is "No response on any level, Red alert.... There's no way out, we are surronded".

Seriously, Best Song ever...it's like a little journey...There's so much depth and diffenernt twists and turns. BLAHHHH, I LOVE IT!

Not meaning to ruin it for you but here ya are!! Sing til your heart bleeds!

Big trouble, loosing control
Primary resistence at a critical low
on the, on the double gotta get a hold
point of no return, one second to go

No response on any level red alert this vessels under
siege total overload all systems down they've got control
there's no way out, we are surrounded
give in, give in and relish every minute of it

OK this is a silly observation, but I was listening to "Have You Got It In You" and was seeing it as good back ground music during the Olympics when they do little back stories on the athlete's....You know the one's where they show them striving to do their best with full out look of detirmination on the face.

ARRRRG. This is way too hard... I'm really gonna have to give the album quite a few listens before I do the poll thing.... or maybe I just won't and declare all of them as favorites! Mmmmm yeah. Good plan, I think. Wink

<pounds herself in the chest with her fist and bangs her head against the wall> ohh this pains me to do it. ahh James you're killin' us all!!! How are we supposed to pick just one??? you know as well as we do that the whole album is simply brilliant! Very Happy but since I can only choose one, I will go with Headlock.... no wait, goodnight and go. Yeah that's it. No no no, the walk. Arrrgh!

It was hard for me to choose... but in the end, I picked Just For Now. Its funny and it reminds me of how me and my siblings can be sometimes. I'm the youngest so i suppose my job is to be annoying. I'd be the one kicking someone under the table! Wink

This is an impossible task, James, but I will say that for the moment it's a battle between "Closing In" and "Have You Got It in You?" with "The Moment I Said It" coming in just behind.

The only song that's taken some time to grow on me is "Daylight Robbery," and I never really disliked it to begin with.

You know, I realized that this album is perfect for being played on an airplane. Only if you've got a window seat, though, and can stare out above the clouds and get lost in 'em while Immi croons into your headphones. There's something about all the beeps and blips and her breathy vocals that works perfectly in that scenario. It feels heavenly.

Gah! I still can't pick a song. Now it's between Have you got it in you?, Loose Ends and Daylight Robbery

Yeah, I couldn't pick a song either! But... I did it. I chose "I am in Love with You" based on the fact that it's so different from the original. But, like the rest of you... I love 'em all! Here's why I love each song: (and why it was so hard to pick JUST ONE... hope this isn't too long... Razz )

Headlock- the lyrics seem so ambiguous. I feel like they could apply to so many situations. That “BOOM” noise!! Yes!

Goodnight & Go- The beat… so lively. A very happy sort of song…. Funny at times too

Have You Got It In You?- Love the beginning and end… and how they are the same. Vocals- so gorgeously wonderful. Love what starts at 2:21

Loose Ends- such a variation of feelings in this song. I really enjoy the lyrics, esp. “Love’s suppose to keep you young and frisky, but we grew up and wide apart” Drums are so great!

Hide & Seek- For obvious reasons: great vocals, brilliantly beautiful lyrics, so much emotion there.

Clear The Area- One of those songs that just stays with me; such a nice little tune. The “Fall into love” part is fantastic!

Daylight Robbery- Absolutely love the guitar! Just the name of the song alone I love! It “always gets me every time!”

The Walk- Almost inexplicable why I love this song so much. Such creative lyrics! Oh, the piano! I love the “WHOOSH” noise! “So that makes it all your fault” haha….

Just for now- Such a heavenly voice… also very amusing; makes me laugh.

I am In Love With You- Mmmm. Love the base in this one. I really like what she’s done with this song… so very different from the original!! 3:00 long…shorter.. but so very sweet.

Closing In- Ohh so nice what happens at 3:09. Piano is so splendidly added in there! I’m not good with “musical terms” and whatnot… but.. just so different…

The Moment I Said It- It was such an unpredictable song when I first heard it…I didn’t have any idea what I’d hear next. Like nothing I’ve ever heard. “It’s not even light out”…so pretty. 2:56… sooo wonderful!

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

OOO

i'm glad to see that "the walk" is the most favored... cause i love that song so much!...

i think it'd be great as a single since there's so much buzz about it... and i can just imagine an awesome music video for it..... something maybe that has immi doing a rad dance number in some of her cool clothes... with color and such...... mmmm it'd be great

the original version is a live recording of this song back in the imegaphone days.... so the track has been redone and put on this album
