So, after many a year of trying....we're planning a new website for Imogen!
The first meeting takes place in a few hours, but I'd love to hear any suggestions on what YOU would like to see on the new site.
We can't guarantee all suggestions will be included, but we will consider any ideas posted in this thread, so let us know your thoughts....we are watching! |

Yay! That's great James, how exciting! The discography section is getting a little dusty... as well as the iPress section.
A suggestion I have is that I would love a new, updated version of the sample plant!
... Pretty please? |

The sample plant will shrivel in comparison to what Immi has in mind! |

a section with all her videos in HQ would be great
also a complete discography...it would be awesome to get to buy digital singles that include old bsides |

"@MajaNilsson1996 Congrats on finishing "covered in white'. A lovely song w/some good twists/turns. YOUR voice sounds nice on it x
@MajaNilsson1996 - though you've done great work, I won't be singing or playing on it though. Sorry. Lots of love.

Usually (on every onther website) when I click on the scroll wheel it opens the link on a NEW TAB, but here it always charge the page on the same page I was looking, and that's not fine.
I like to keep the home page in one tab, and to open the other pages on new tabs. |

Are you talking about once you get to http://imogenheap.com/site.html ??
That's because the navigation is flash-based, this will change on the new site. |

There was lots of discussion of crowd-sourcing last night (not surprisingly) and we're working on some ideas on how everyone who visits can contribute in some way, if they so wish! |

wunnerful! fans have been, are and always will be a great source of information and talent, and usually make willing, happy-to-help volunteers . |

If we are talking about this site, http://www.imogenheap.com/site.html
I'd like to say that the grey little music player doesn't work.
It says "Playing" but I can't hear anything. :S |

Blogging (at length as opposed to 140 characters) is something Immi really wants to do - as soon as she has a nice home on her site to do it she'll be doing that again.....which I'm looking forward too |

Can't wait to for the new site!
When heapsong1 was over I know a lot of the "heaples" wanted to have an ongoing chat box, so that we could all chat amongst ourselves. |

yeah, like a permanent tiny chat window? those days were really cool where we could all go and pantyfan together like on the release of ellipse, this is a good idea! |

| immi blogs = yay! and even though i'm a little elderly for the chat thing (in that conversations tend to move much quicker than i do), i think it's a fabulous option to include on the new site. |

A chat would be great. The forums are good for ongoing discussions on some topics where people can take time to think what they post. A chat is good for hellos that could otherwise just clutter the forums. People would surely still use both.
A blog would be interesting, if she can keep it up and likes doing it. I'm not expecting big blog updates too often as she already tweets a lot.
I don't have any original ideas to hope for. Only design points that I like seeing on websites in general. Opinions really and I'm not a web designer, just a software developer.
Scaling the website to fit any browser window is great. Maybe it's tricky to do so that it still looked good? I still think it would be great for usability. At least the forums should scale width, I think. Some people are bound to use huge avatar images and that would make the available width for the actual message too narrow, if the forum had a forced fixed width.
Unify the look a little bit from the intro page to the main site. If we start from www.imogenheap.com, the visitor currently has to click twice to get to the site. And when at the main site, the visitor might like to navigate back to the tour list directly. Ok, the tour link is under Calendar, I didn't realize that at first, and of course I could just bookmark the main site after I learn how to reach the many subsites from there. Maybe tour list could be embedded under calendar, or wherever the equivalent would be on the new site - or the tour dates, events, any relevant dates, added into an actual calendar. Maybe not add too many places where to update the same information though, hmm. Maybe a feature to import selected calendar dates to your Outlook calendar. Anyways, my point was, that I personally felt just a little lost when navigating the current site as a whole at first. |

| I don't think I could commit myself to updating discography, etc, but I did make some suggestions a while ago which could be a starting point. |
