<  'Ellipse' Discussion  ~  Would Not Now But Soon fit onto Ellipse?

I added this song to my Ellipse playlist on my computer. I think it fits perfectly into this album so I just wonder why she didn't include it?!
What do you think?

i think she didn't include it because she wanted to give us more songs that we haven't heard already.

and i dont think it would of fit too well

It wouldn't fit because it's a song made really tooooo quickly ... and it's nice but neither the lyrics nor the music are good enough for Ellipse ...

I think it's good enough, but would it fit in? Also, there might be record company issues, as NNBS was made for a soundtrack. (But I don't know if it has been issued on a soundtrack album.)

I certainly think it's good enough but the nice thing about Ellipse is that it flows so nicely from song to song. I don't think there's anywhere it could go where it wouldn't either extend some of the song's more mellow spaces a tad too much.

'Not Now But Soon' is the bonus track for the Ellipse Japanese edition...i read it in wikipedia.

It depends.
It can fit for some but not others.
It has a different feel to it then most of the other songs in a way.

I can't see why it would not fit. There are certain sounds in "2-1" that remind me alot of NNBS.

I always felt it either stands totally alone, or is a good combination of the styles of SFY and Ellipse

I think it would fit onto Ellipse as well. But I think her reason for not including it is because it was never meant to be included. NNBS was done for Heroes and nothing else. Going back through the vblogs she never talks about it as a possible album track.

Actually, I believe she does. I'm not sure if she was talking about the track she was supposed to do for Narnia, or NNBS..or perhaps both. But she said something along the lines that she's not yet sure if it's album material or not. "It might end up on the album, it might not..I'm not sure yet"..or something like that

You're right back in vblog 12 (I just checked, lol) she does say it was intended for the album.

I find that they all have there own feeling and amazing lyrics

NNBS is a different feel, could fit with some other songs just by the lyrics but not by the sound

Don't be too sure of that. Wiki is often wrong, so unless one of the Jap sites lists it as such...

Also, Not Now But Soon would've stuck out on Ellipse in the bad way. It had been obvious for quite a while it wasn't going to be on Ellipse. And as much as I love NNBS, it's best that it wasn't on Ellipse, because I think it would have fallen flat.

I think Imogen only puts the new shiny on her albums. This also means that Heap album collectors have to find the japanese versions as well.
