i like this one a little more. but theres something not right with her eye. i can't tell what it is. but i like the smile on her face Smile

oh wait! i think that the eye has a little shadow underneath it making it look a little strange cuz u can't see it on the other one. but that might be cuz her hair is covering most of it.

still looks great. looks better than the first one Smile

Umm... how can this blog be sure this is the final cover?
Until we get official confirmation (James?, Tiff?) I won't believe this is true.
(IT HAS TO BE BETTER!!!!!!!) Sad

Immi, I love you to bits. And I realise I'm all by my lone-some for saying this, but the original album cover was way better in my opinion. It had you staring into a deep nothing, and had this fantasy like feel. Though I must admit this cover feels more personal, with you looking directly into the camera and all. But it just doesn't work for me at all. There's also something strange about your face in this picture, and I'm not sure what it is. (She looks uncomfortable?) I doubt it's been that heavily photoshopped but it doesn't feel like Immi at all. And the earlier cover really did if you ask me.

I'm sorry for the people who like this version better, but it's just my opinion. I'm not that crazy about it. I secretly hope she changes her mind back to the earlier cover.

Well I don't mean it's better per se. But if you ask me, Immi looks really uncomfortable on this cover. Like she's forcing a smile or something, I'm not really sure can't really put my finger on it. The older version felt more natural and kind of mysterious. And though this version isn't 'bad', it just gives me a weird feeling. Like I said, it's my opinion and I'm trying to explain myself as good as I can:P

Either way, it's the music that counts. I've never been that hyped about album covers at all. I honestly didn't like the album cover, nor the booklet for "Speak For Yourself" either. But it's still one of my favorite albums of all time.

edit: I've been comparing the first and the second version over and over again. And I've come to a certain point where I can't decide which one I like better. I like Immi smiling alot more in the second version, which is a big plus. But I kind of like her looking away with the wind blowing through her hair..not really sure. DAMN..Razz Either way, like I said..it's the music that counts the most for me. Whichever cover she picks, it's fine by me hehe..

I think Imogen looks fantastic. However, I feel like that eye liner underneath the eye looks photoshopped in as it doesn't match the shade and density of the eye lid. I feel like if whoever editted it took just a little off and brought it closer to the eye, maybe intensify the opacity a tid, -or- maybe just take it off altogether, it would be perfect.

I can't wait to see the inside art!

PS: I love black album covers!

Wow, I'm surprised by some of the criticism. I never noticed all of those things the first time I looked at it.

Personally, I like the grin in comparison to the previous one. Anytime I see Imogen on a vBlog, she's always able to make me grin uncontrollably just by the simplest things. I think this captures that. Her music is more than straight face, deep, and emotion. It's got a little bit of play to it. Like Aha!

This cover makes it look like she's holding something she's really proud of, which is a good metaphor for the album, and then The Hideaway and Planets that she's holding.

I couldn't be happier. My life may be complete if I get an immi autograph on this cover.

Don't rip me to shreds, but I think that whole concept should be dropped. It's unoriginal (in my opinion, anyway), and doesn't really give me the impression of something unique or fantastic. That's just me, anyway... Rolling Eyes

i cannot wait. i am so glad this promising album has a ridiculously amazing cover. i hate it when great albums have shitty covers... the album feels "incomplete" (in terms of editing).

pumped.

at first I hated hated it. it was the very subtle asymetry of her mouth and cheeks that threw me off. once I realized it was a grin, I liked.

looking straight at the camera is much better. and the overall androgyny suits her style.

I think whatever is best because they both are great. I really depends on how she is trying to make the album feel.
There are so many different things each pictures says and has to it so what ever is best fitting from immi's point for the album, is being picked, which is awesome.

I personally find adrogyny very beautiful, and I feel it is a suiting term to describe Imogen's beauty. We know she's a lady, for sure, but she shows it more in her personality and presence than her actual skin. Androgyny doesn't mean she looks like a man or drag king; it means her appearance is more genderless than the ultra feminine or ultra masculine stereotypes and still looks beautiful and natural.

is it just me or does her face look more yellow? lol..

i do prefer this one over the old one in terms of the grin being there. imogen just never goes without a subtle hint of silliness/humor :)

It's not you ! Laughing

And ... her skin is really really yellow ... i hope she doesn't have a liver disease ! Laughing Laughing Laughing

Finally, this cover looks cool in some way ... it's funny ...
I like the idea of having a humoristic cover ...
The fact that the artist shows himself really not at his best demonstrates that he's capable of automockery and it's great i think ...

It's fine. It's fine. It's fine. It's fine (continue until page is full)...

A majority of you say that you prefer the first one even though you didn't even like it, so is this version worse? Come on. It's just an album cover.

i've been thinking about it all morning and decided that we're not looking at it the right way.

back up a little. close your eyes (after reading this lol!).

think of all the things you've seen in the vblogs. the whole process. all the hard work, the studio, the silliness, the never ending creativity and most of all, the music.

think about what we are receiving with the release of this album. what it means.

... then open your eyes and see imogen handing it all to us.

i couldn't help but turn her subtle grin into a smile on my own face. you?

Humoristic cover??? Confused I really don't get the people who don't like it. I mean... it's definitely better than the first one. And Immi looks great (at least in my eyes Rolling Eyes) IMO.
