I love Frou Frou, it's how I found immi x3

My first song was 'Must Be Dreaming', I saw it in an AMV a while ago (Several years now) and I loved it, and searched out the rest of the songs... I havn't seen Details in store anywhere though, though I have been searching forever (Finally found S4Y though! The Grammy Nomination made local stores scramble to get all the nominee's music)

You can listen to:

Let Go
Breathe In
It's Good To Be In Love
Shh

... on the myspace profile: www.myspace.com/froufrou

You can still buy Details on Amazon.com - if you find the enhanced version I suggest that so you can get 'Old Piano.'

Wow, was that an old interview? I think it said 2003.

In any case, I'd love a new Frou Frou album. That's how I learned about Immi in the first place. Someone mentioned them to me because I ran a popular Dido fansite at the time. I was hooked! Then Garden State happened and it seemed like everyone had heard of them! So more new Frou Frou would be welcome...

However... I'm so happy with Imogen's solo stuff. Especially Speak For Yourself. It's different but in some ways I almost think it's a bit more adventurous. So if they can't find the time to do a follow-up I wouldn't be too sad as long as Immi keeps making great albums.

Mmmhmm... Let Go was the first thing I ever heard from Imogen Heap, though it was Frou Frou. The song was played on the Garden State Trailer and I LOVED it, but I didn't know who it was by, and what the song title was. I'd always peel my eyes open for that commercial in an unhealthy obsession, hah. It wasn't until two years after when I finally found out who it was. The year after that, I bumped into my cousin playing Speeding Cars, and my ear rose up and I exclaimed "ISN'T THAT FROU FROU?" but when I looked at the playlist, it was Imogen Heap and that's where the confusion started.

Later on I found out that they were the same people, and the start of my interest in Speak For Yourself. Laughing

Wooh! A fellow Canadian! Welcome! Wink Frou Frou is (was Confused) a collaboration between Imogen and Guy Sigsworth (he's produced Bjork, Madonna, Seal, Mandalay, the list goes on Wink). Their album, Details, is a stunning piece of work. It's a combination of Immi's sublime voice, heartfelt, meaningful lyrics and outstanding electronica influenced production. Check it out! Very Happy

Okay, what!? He's been working with Mandalay as well? I'm so in love with their music!
I've been desperately looking for their cd's since a few months now. Until now, I've only managed to get a hold of Nicola Hitchcock's solo-album...

I love them as well! Haven't been able to get a hold of their albums either though (except on amazon but the shipping sucks). I actually first heard a few of their songs on a medical drama called Strong Medicine, loved the sound of it a lot.

I read an interview which was posted on here not that long ago and the man is amazng. He really has the right idea about music which I think alot of the artists nowadays have lost or have never experienced. He sees a song as a personal piece of art, whereas many of the other artists out there see a song as something to do to get money and there's no soul put into it.

It's becoming blatantly obvious where the talen lies.

Frou Frou are an amazing band. One of the best bands I've ever come across and certainly something someone has to experience if they like Imogen's music.

I do definately hope that Guy and Immi can collaborate in the future. He certainly helped Immi to get her footing in the ladder of music. Now that she's established herself as an artist in her own right it may be unlikely there may be another collaboration, but you never know: sometime in the future they might be willing to create something of absolute brilliance for the sheer fun of it.

I wait for the day.

you know, I never got why people compare her to Imogen so much. Kate works with strings in a way Imogen never has done and never will do. Guy is a great producer, but his current material, while still sounding Frou Frou-ish, is not exactly as Frou Frou sounds. While I really love Halo, I wouldn't compare it to Details more than I would compare Alanis Morissette's Flavors Of Entanglement to Details... It has its similarities, but they have entirely different sonic shapes.

I like Kate. She's not my highest played artist, although I have high hopes for the next album, but she's very talented.

And Olaf, they're not slamming Kate... Just stating that they prefer Imogen's music, I'd say. Smile
